Gypsum Powder &
Plaster of Paris

Gypsum Plaster or Powder are widely used as Wall Plaster, Crack filling, making Sculptures and it also has some industrial usage.

Our Plaster of Paris is popularly used for the production of crafts, moulds, casts, sculpture, etc. For Plaster of Paris, we can conduct bulk orders that also at the most competitive prices.

Precise structure of compounds merely makes our Paris plaster unbeatable catering requirements of more than one industry.

Chemically, gypsum is calcium sulphate dihydrate — a different mineral from the natural calcium carbonate we produce in Porbandar, and it does a different job. Gypsum sets: mixed with water it rehydrates and hardens into a solid mass, which is what makes it a plaster and a moulding material. Calcium carbonate does not set; it stays inert and works as a mineral filler inside someone else's formulation. Many construction customers buy both from us for exactly that reason.

Product Uses

Gypsum powder is mainly used in crack filling, plastering walls (as wall plaster) and making decorative moulds and casts.
Gypsum is also widely used for industrial purposes including the production of crafts, sculptures, and architectural elements.

Where Gypsum Powder Is Used

Wall Plastering

Gypsum plaster gives a smooth, level internal wall finish directly over brickwork or block, without the sand, curing time and shrinkage cracking that come with traditional cement plastering. It sets fast, which keeps a site programme moving.

Crack Filling & Repair

A standard filler for cracks, joints and surface defects before painting. It works into the defect, sets quickly, and sands back cleanly to a flush surface ready for the coating system.

Moulds & Casts

Plaster of Paris reproduces fine detail faithfully and releases cleanly, which is why it remains the standard material for decorative moulds, cornices, ceiling roses and architectural ornamentation.

Sculpture & Crafts

Used by sculptors, model makers, ceramic studios and craft manufacturers for casting, carving and pattern work — a workable, low-cost medium that takes detail well.

False Ceiling & POP Work

Widely used for POP false ceilings, cove work and decorative interior detailing across residential and commercial construction.

Industrial Uses

Beyond construction, gypsum is used in pattern making, ceramic mould production and a range of industrial casting applications where a fast-setting, detail-faithful material is needed.

Alongside gypsum, Gayatri Minerals produces natural calcium carbonate — whiting chalk powder — from our own mines in Porbandar, used as a filler in wall putty, paint, rubber, plastic, PVC, cable and flame retardant compound formulations.
